Fairy Tales Are Not Just For Kids

Hey guys,
I hope everyone is doing well, I sure am. Today I actually had a hard time deciding what to write about but I chose something I think you guys will like. Who doesn't love fairy tales? I may be 23 years old but I still enjoy a good fairy tale and I still love watching Disney movies based on fairy tales. Does this make me childish? I don't think so but I've been told by some that it does.
I grew up watching Disney movies and reading fairy tales by the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Anderson. I never questioned the fact that they aren't real and I've continued reading them since. What a lot of people don't realize is how much fairy tales pop up in books for teens and adults. I make it a point to search for books that involve fairy tales.

I'm not just talking about fairy tales though. I'm including popular children's stories like Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, amongst others. I've lost count of how many books I've read that are based on children's stories. Surely they can't just be for children if so many writers are inspired by them. In fact, the novel I'm working on was inspired by many of the Grimm fairy tales.

Not only are there books based on fairy tales, but one of my favorite television shows is based entirely upon fairy tales. 'Once Upon a Time' has become so popular that a spin-off show called 'Once Upon a Time in Wonderland' was created. These shows are not for children yet very successful.

If that isn't enough proof that fairy tales have branched out, then I don't know what is. I love fairy tales and that's never going to stop. I may not read the traditional stories but the fairy tale inspired books are enough to feed my hunger for them. If you're a lover of fairy tales or popular children's stories consider looking for some books that are based on them. I promise you will love them. So I don't want to hear anymore about fairy tales being just for children because clearly they are not. Now I'm off to go work on my own fairy tale story. Thanks for reading!

                                   Sincerely,
                                                   Erin a.k.a. Bookworm

P.S.-If you've been enjoying my blog I would love to have some feedback. Please post comments if you have any thoughts to share.
